2. This is Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. I played in my
first junior golf tournament. I shot 116 but did not finish last.
This is the golf course that Bobby Jones practiced on
prior to building the Augusta National Golf Club.
3. This is the 10th Hole a Par 3 at Country Club of Charleston. The
bunkers are 20 feet below green. You never want to be in these
bunkers.
The Country Club of
Charleston was
build in 1796.
4. Oak Hills? Actually in Columbia, South Carolina. This is back of #9, a
Par 5. I worked there in the Pro Shop for 6 months and practiced for
free.
5. This is the 18th Hole at Eagles’ Landing Golf Course in
Stockbridge, Georgia. I attempted to qualify for an LPGA
event here. I shot 90 that day. I cried the entire way home.
6. This is the Clubhouse at Woodside Plantation in Aiken, South Carolina.
I survived first round of qualifying for US Women’s Open. I shot 75
that day to advance to Sectional Qualifying.
7. This is the Second Hole at Country Club of Charlotte, NC. At Sectional
Qualifying (36 holes), I shot 84-86 and missed the opportunity to play
in the US Womens Open.
8. This is Eaglebrooke. A resort in Lakeland, Florida. I attempted to
qualify for the Symtra Tour and got to play a practice round with
Aree and Naree Song (#1 women amateur golfers at the time)
That day I kept pace until Aree aced a par 3 from 176 yards out.
9. This is the 18th hole at the Palmetto Golf Course. I made par from the
left side of this bunker but missed qualifying for the US Women's
Amateur by one stroke.
10. This is the Kona Country Club in Kona, Hawaii. During the offseason,
the grounds crew replace the sand with large pebbled sand. It looks
the same but when get in it.
11. Osprey Point is a part of Kiawah Island. When I played in a tournament
there, an alligator came up to the tee box. So there was a 15 minute
delay while we waited for the animal to leave.
12. This is my dream to play Augusta National. I have walked its
grounds four times as a spectator.
