óDZ is located in Berguedà, in the “Pre-Pyrenee”   In óDZ there are about 225 habitants in total. Only stable population of about 100 residents.In the summer there are about 1500 habitants. óDZ exists since X century.  It is built in a top of a mountain. Pablo Picasso stayed in óDZ in 1906. Basic information
  Gosol is located in Berguedà, in the “Pre-Pyrenee”. Rounded by Alt Urgell, Solsonès, Bages, Osona and Ripollès. Location
In the tenth century it was the built of the village in the top of the mountains. In 1763 was built “Santa Margarida’s” church. From 1800 to 1900 there was the abandonadment of the old village and the built of the new village. In 1837 to 1876 the houses were burned. In 1906 Pablo Picasso started in óDZ. In 1927 they installed the power station. In 1937 in the Civil War, the altars of the chruches were burned. In 1960 started a big migration to the cities. A little history
In óDZ the most important sector is the primary sector: the peasantry . óDZ also benifits a little, thanks for mines of Saldes.   Work and industry in óDZ
In óDZ the most importants things to see are: - Museum   -  Sta. Maria of the castle of óDZ - “ Sta. Eulàlia de Bonner”  - Torresenta  -  The mill   -  Cap de la Creu   - Pedraforca   Interesting things to see
The most important festivals in óDZ are: “ Festa Major” “ Festa del Segar” “ Festa de Santa Margarida” Festivals
Pablo Picasso Picasso arrived in óDZ in 1906. He when there to recover from an illness. There Picasso changed his form of paint and developed the cubism. Picasso lived in a Hostal called “Cal Tempanera”  He was inspirad with Fernande Olivier( his couple) the town, the people of the zone, the cows, the horses,… Some of his most important picture are: “La dona dels pans”, “El jove gosolà”, “Fernande amb el mocador”…
