Kelut is a powerful volcano located on the Pacific Ring of Fire that has over 300 active volcanoes. On May 18, 1919, the volcano erupted, with the crater water heating up at 11am, mud and smoke erupting at 12pm, and lava erupting at 1pm, killing over 5,000 people. Kelut has had major eruptions in 1919, 1951, 1961, 1990, and 2007.
