List of Base KPIs, Dashboards and Reports
Demand Review Assess the changes to the
Consensus Forecast in units and value. Review accuracy
and bias metrics. Track the expected sales against the
business plans in units and value.
Supply Review Evaluate the service levels, capacity
loads and projected inventory positions. Assess the
options to improve the supply positions for improved
service levels. Take actions to reduce the late demands.
Financial Reconciliation Assess and reconcile the
financial gaps against the business plans for revenue and
margins.
Executive Review Review the metric scorecard,
sales / revenue / margin outlook and alternative plans.
Assess the working capital needs and the service levels.
Finalize the decisions to drive the operating plan.
Exception Management Evaluate the key exceptions for count,
days, quantity, and value. Exceptions aggregated at meaningful
levels with drill-down capability
Capacity Planning View time-series resource loading at
aggregate levels. Review loading at standard rates vs. rates with
efficiency/utilization defined
Inventory Performance Review Inventory Turns and Days on
Hand for ASCP plans, at aggregate levels with drill-down capability
to more granular attributes such as Planner and Category
Excess & Obsolete Summarizes Excess Supply in two ways:
via ASCP pegging data and also with user-defined windows for
Excess and Obsolete. Results are summarized monetized
Operational Performance Review expected fill rate for shipping
orgs, with drill-downs. Also contains a Schedule Attainment report.

Company Introduction
孫 Source: IDC HDD and enterprise SSD (Worldwide Hard Disk Drive 2013-2018 Forecast & Worldwide Solid State Storage 2013-2018 Forecast and Analysis)
NBTY is the largest nutritional supplement manufacturer
and distributor in the United States with $4 billion annual
revenue
Company has Omni-channel business model selling
through:
Wholesale (Wal-Mart, Costco, CVS, Target, Walgreens etc.)
Retail (400+ owned US stores Vitamin World)
Direct to consumer Puritans Pride (online and mail
catalog).
NBTY has embarked on a large 5+ year transformational
project with Oracle SCM products
Main objective included one forecast and one system
for multiple business segments
13
Supply Chain Planning Before VCP
The supply chain planning processes at NBTY lacked the enterprise planning tools
that can provide shared visibility to common data reference points, reduce data
compilation efforts, and facilitate a truly collaborative, value added planning process.
Multiple,
non-integrated
systems
Manual processes
Multiple data sources
Supply TeamsChannel Leads FinanceDemand Planners
No automated integrated views that connect demand planning with supply planning.
Significant effort spent running the business, taking focus away from planning the business reactive vs. proactive.
14
Business Benefits from VCP:
Stakeholder visibility to the consensus demand forecast
and supply planning details
Visibility to demand signal building blocks
Planning teams focus on value added activity vs.
administratively cumbersome data maintenance
View includes input from Finance to provide visibility to
revenue impact from supply chain planning activities
Summary of demand planning output data with
pre-calculated KPIs, reports, dashboards as well as
archived information for trend analysis and comparison to
support executive review, strategic planning, S&OP
planning and tactical planning.
Upon the deployment of the Demand Management phase of the Value Chain
Planning implementation, NBTY business users have a consolidated view of
demand on a common planning platform.
