This document discusses several topics related to the state of Texas:
- The biggest issue facing Texas is immigration, as many individuals have entered the country illegally, posing challenges for legal citizens and natural born citizens.
- As Texas's population increases, it could potentially become a "blue state" in presidential elections due to more Democratic voters. This could happen within the next couple years.
- The document discusses learning about the importance of local elections and getting friends/family involved from taking a class. It also discusses learning that a distant relative fought at the Alamo and how the governor operates within the system of Texas government.
2.  My Family – I want to see my children have a good
future and one that is accepting and will allow them
the freedom to do what they want to do with their life
and for it to not put any restrictions
 My wife and I both own businesses so I believe that
by virtue of being an active voter this is essentially
giving me a say in the business climate for the state.
3.  The political system throughout the
state and how everything operates.
 The ties to the deep south and the
bearing it had upon the state.
 The individuals who helped bring
Texas into existence.
4. FUTURE
ISSUE
Immigration will be the biggest issue facing the
state of Texas. Texas in its current state is
running rampant with individuals who have come
into this country illegally which in turn only leads
to challenges for citizens who have worked
extremely hard to get here legally and for the
natural born citizens who are currently here.
5. TEXAS AND US
Texas is a huge state for the federal government in the presidential elections. With
the increase in population we’ve seen all throughout the state this will make it
where the state of Texas could easily turn into a blue state. Which depending on the
next couple of years could very well happen. It’s going to be extremely interesting to
see.
6. CARRY ON
 I’ve learned the value that I bring into the local elections that we have and that I
should be acting as an example to get my friends and family involved in this
process.
 I learned that one of my distant relatives fought and died at the Alamo – Daniel
Cloud. When discussing with my father that I was taking this class he told me
about our families role in this state. I’ll be passing this on to my children.
 I’ve learned what our governor goes through and the way he operates throughout
our state and also the struggles he deals with daily with the general nature of
Texas Government being so hands off.
