Prehistoric Britain spans from over 2.5 million years ago to 43 AD. The first humans arrived as hunter-gatherers using simple stone tools. Later, Neolithic communities erected the first stone circles for ceremonial rituals. Around 2500 BC, Beaker people from Spain immigrated with metalworking skills, making gold, copper and bronze implements. In the Iron Age starting around 750 BC, the Celtic Britons settled, becoming skilled farmers and metalworkers who built villages and hill forts and used iron weapons and tools.
