The document describes several tribes and their traditions, including the Padaung tribe who place brass rings around their necks starting at age 3, the Suri tribe who place rings in their mouths, and the Satere-Mawe tribe who endure bullet ants stinging their hands in a ritual for ten minutes and must repeat it 20 times total. It notes that while these practices seem extreme, the tribes view them as normal parts of their culture, just as other cultures have their own normal customs.
