Editor's Notes

  • #4: From the beginning volvo has strived to create long term value for hes shareholders. As you can see on this graph the value of the shares have strengthend a lot at. On the X-axis we can see the percentage of total return on the investment of the share and on the y-axis we see the timetable in years starting from 1985 till 2012.From 1985 till 1992 the shares remained stable. If we continue we see that stocks advanced till 2003.After that it shoot up to 8000 % which was the peak of the shares value. Next it crashed to 2000 luckely it made a recovery and now the shareholder value is around 6000 percent meaning if you invisted 1000 euros in 1985 it would be worth 60000 euros in 2012.
  • #5: In 2012 volvo had a strong first half of the year and a weaker second half of the year which resulted in lower sales and declining operating income compared to 2011. The numbers in the table are expressed in millions and the coin is in swedish krona which means that 300000 million or 300 billion swedish krona is equal to 30 billions euros. If we look to the right column we can see that the net sales have weakend compared to the year 2011 The gross income also slipped back. The other financiel numbres have taken a drop compared to 2011.
  • #6: In 2008the net sale was at 30 billion euros a year later it dove to 21 billion euros after that the sale advanced back to 30 billion in 2012. We can conclude that there isnt a big diffrence between the year 2011 and 2012If we look at the operating income in 2012 the Q3 took a beating there where several reasons for this: negative changes in currency exchange rate as well as the costs related to the launch of new trucks, .... Finally in Q4 the operating income dropped to the lowest point. The focus of the remainder of 2012 will be keeping inventories and a cash flow.
  • #7: I think Volvo will keep growing because their focus is to become the world leader in sustainable transport. Which means they try to reduce their carbon footprint. As a company this is a good thing in times where the earth is being more and more polluted it gives a good image of the company and wil persuade new people like me to invest.
