This document summarizes a pilot program on minor railway technology run from 2012-2015. The program was a collaboration between industry and education to provide students internship and learning opportunities in the railway field. Over three cohorts, 45 students graduated from the program. The curriculum included courses on railway systems, infrastructure, design, and maintenance. Site visits and projects gave students hands-on experience. Evaluations found that over 30% of the first cohort found jobs in rail after graduating. The program helped train the next generation of rail professionals and foster innovation.
