TheVardarorAxios( Macedonian: 舒亟舒;Greek
:両旅Axi坦sor 留隆略侶Vard叩r朝s ) is the longest and major river
in theRepublic of Macedonia and also a major river of Greece. It
is 388km (241mi) long, and drains an area of around
25,000km 2 (9,653sqmi). The maximum depth of river is 4m
(13ft).

The river rises atVrutok, a few kilometers north of Gostivarin the
Republic of Macedonia. It passes through Gostivar,Skopjeand
