A personal learning network (PLN) is an informal learning network consisting of people from whom a learner interacts with and gains knowledge, according to Wikipedia. In a PLN, a person connects with others with the intent of learning from those connections. Social networking sites help the learner communicate globally to share and exchange ideas and knowledge, look for information, and share documents and presentations while also allowing email exchanges between peers and friends.
