- 2. Why teach PDHPE in primary schools? PDHPE is an important factor in childrens lives. It helps children chose the healthier choices and options in life. It encourages children to value themselves and friends, hence helps children communicate and interact with other children.
- 3. Importance of PDHPE PDHPE is important for children, because it will help them develop the following skills: Interacting skills Decision making skills Communicating skills Moving skills Problem solving skills
- 4. Facts of PDHPE Department of Health issued recommendations for 5-12 years old of 60 minutes of moderate and vigorous physical activity per day. Children are more prone to heat stress than adults and should therefor not exercise for long periods of time and in extreme conditions. It is proven that students who are well-nourished and physically active are able to reach their academic potential and exhibit positive behaviors in classroom.

Outcomes of PDHPE PDHPE promotes the overall well-being of students, active lifestyle, growth and development, personal health choices etc. The aims of PDHPE is to develop skills such as communicating, decision making, interacting, moving and problem solving. PDHPE encourages an understanding of others and emphasizes informed decision making leading to responsible action.
