Prepared by
CLAUDE MAPHOSA
We are a committed team of African Body Builders
The A Team comprises of a group of body builders who have
competed in local & prestigious shows such as the Gauteng
Provincials & South African Championships
Over the last few years our athletes have proven themselves by
being the top in their categories leading to qualifying to compete
abroad
The A Team seeks to promote body building in townships and
under-resourced areas where the sport is unexplored and little
known
Minister of Sport, Mr Fikile Mbalula, is in the process of bringing all
sporting codes on par

development & integration of cohesive communities
Body Building remains largely neglected, however, it has many
benefits insofar as it can contribute in addressing social concerns
prevalent in under-resourced areas such as substance abuse, by
promoting alternate & healthy living
The A Team finds an opportunity to build & integrate communities
in Soweto through the use of the Petrus Molefe Development Park
by hosting an annual body building event for male & female
athletes in the various categories
The A Team proposes that this grand event the Petrus Molefe
Body Building Show Judgement Day be hosted annually as a
follow up to the Petrus Molefe Body Building Show
The purpose of the show is to contribute in the campaign to take
our boys & girls off the streets & encourage them to participate in
this sporting event thereby exposing them to alternative activities
The A team believes that the event will bring about an atmosphere
of unity & harmony through sport & encourage the youth to stay
away from substance abuse

The Soweto Festival Expo is Sowetos hallmark event that draws together

and visitors from all over Gauteng and beyond on an annual basis to celebrate
the communitys richness, diversity, enterprise and heritage. The event
enables the people of Soweto and surrounding areas to come together in a
fun, relaxed environment infused with a positive spirit.
More than 30 000 people are expected to grace the occasion and The A team
will use this opportunity to make a difference in the community.
The Soweto Festival Expo combines an entertainment programme including
body building, dance and drama, an exhibition of arts and crafts and other
local products, a tourism expo, an outdoor area for food and drink vendors
selling traditional as well as branded fare, a sports programme including
soccer and golf, a youth zone and activity pavilion and a business expo for the

And new talent was born again.....

Previous Event
Male Participants
From the development Show we
produced a South African
Champion
Sandile Buthelezi
By exposing communities to a fairly unknown sport such as body
building there is an opportunity to attract new audiences as well as
participants as they learn about the sport as more than just
entertainment but as a feasible alternative
The event is set to be an annual event with long term growth
objectives as we believe that a healthy lifestyle is not a once off
event but a lifelong decision and investment towards improved
health
We as the A team firmly believe that by becoming a body building
ambassadors, & in partnership with sponsors, we can drive this
initiative to great heights with the aim to integrate communities
through sport
