ICT stands for information and communications technology. It encompasses all technologies used for communication like computers and other devices. ICT in education uses blended learning, which combines traditional classroom teaching with online learning materials. An example is students being assigned both printed and online assignments. ICT integration in education is characterized by learner-centered tasks, open-ended problems to encourage critical thinking, collaborative classrooms, and real-life understanding of concepts. ICT is important as it develops students' digital skills, enables continuous learning, and keeps curriculum up to date with changing technology.
