ust like your skin, hairs also need
proper attention and care and
when it is monsoon it becomes
more important to save them from
losing shine and thickness. If not
taken care properly monsoon can
prove to be havoc on hairs and can
make them frizzy, dry and brittle.
Hairs may also become limp, and
there are chances of scalp infections
too. Thus, proper hair care in
monsoon is very essential.
Maintaining your hair is relatively
easy with the right kind of steps
Be careful with your diet: Drink
more and more water as it is an
important element for a healthy body,
skin and hair. Eatables full of proteins
taking care of your hair should be
included in your daily diet. Food
Wash with placid shampoo:
Hairs can become lifeless due to dust
and pollution. Keep your scalp clean
and dry by washing your head on
every second day with a gentle
moisturising shampoo.
Prevention from dandruff: The
danger of dandruff/ fungus infection
can increase during monsoon. When
head is left wet for long time it may
develop dandruff and infection. Donʼt
tie your hair when wet. Use an anti-
dandruff shampoo. Use of lemon
juice once in a week is necessary for
prevention of bacterial infection.
Use oil and conditioning:
Massaging your scalp with oil once a
week helps in hydrating dry scalp and
increases the flow of blood in your
body. Coconut oil is rich in fatty acids
that nourish and moisturise the scalp
and hairs. – Megha Jetley
containing Vitamin A and vitamin C
is also a good source for healthy
hairs.
Getting wet in rain: Rain water
may increase scalp infection, so after
having a rain bath you must wash
your head with tap water to protect
them from infection.
