DENVER One World One Water is striving to shatter the notion that water conservation is a
boring topic.
The organization kicked off its Put the WOW back in OWOW campaign on April 24. Invitations
in the form of blue sticky notes were strewn about Auraria campus the day before. The
culminating event being a splash mob parade through the middle of spring fling, complete with
squirt guns, bubbles, silly string and a spirited blue man heading the line.
OWOW is a division of Metropolitan State University Denver committed to spreading the word
about water conservation in Colorado. They host events throughout the year that are open to the
public and head up an interdisciplinary, tri-campus, minor program geared toward urban water
education and stewardship. Its newest campaign aims to bring awareness of their minor in a more
appealing, exciting and trendy way.
"A good steward learns about our most precious natural resource - water, and reaches out to put
that knowledge into action, Tom Cech, founder of OWOW, said. Colorado's future will be
shaped by our students, and their stewardship will determine that fate of our rivers, lakes and
groundwater."

water stewardship and conservation. Keep an eye out for them as they continue to make waves
on campus, or stop in and say hi to their amazing staff in their new office, located at 1045 9th
