The ship is a high intake (3600 TEU), shallow draught design with best-in-class fuel efficiency, which is achieved by an extensive optimisation and model testing programme. The vessels will be built at Cosco Zhoushan Shipyard in China for Maersk Line A/S. The design is intended for operation in Maersk Lines liner network in Northern Europe. OMT will supply design drawings and documentation to Cosco Shipyard. The new order for the container feeder design is an important milestone in OMTs business strategy for becoming a leading design supplier of cost-effective and energy-efficient vessel designs for Chinas growing maritime industry. Odense Maritime Technology (OMT) traces its heritage back to 1917 when Odense Steel Shipyard was founded by A. P. Moller in Odense.
