                        Greetings from the Prime Minister

I am delighted to extend my warmest greetings to everyone attending the Phoenix
Academy of the Arts Chinese New Year Cultural Festival.

Across Canada, friends and family are gathering to welcome the Year of the
Snake. On this festive occasion, we have a chance to highlight the remarkable
success enjoyed by Canadians of Chinese descent. Your community’s many
achievements speak to Canada’s limitless potential and the strength we draw from
our wealth of cultures.

We are fortunate to live in the best country in the world. Our Chinese community
has been integral to realizing Canada’s success and securing this country’s bright
future. As you greet a new year with this unique festival, I hope that know you will
reflect upon all that we have achieved and the many great things yet to come.

On behalf of the Government of Canada, I offer my best wishes for good luck,
happiness and prosperity in the coming year.

Gung Hay Fat Choy!

The Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper, P.C., M.P.
Prime Minister of Canada
