Management involves planning, organizing, leading, and controlling organizational resources to efficiently and effectively achieve goals. It is defined as a set of activities including planning, decision making, organizing, leading, and controlling directed at an organization's human, financial, physical, and information resources. Basic managerial activities are planning and decision making, organizing, leading, and controlling. The purpose of management is to ensure an organization's goals are achieved efficiently without waste and effectively by doing things successfully.

Management as an Element:- Management is an important element in every organization. It is the element that coordinates currents organizational activities and Plans for the future. It adapts the organization to its environment And shapes the organization to make it more suitable to the organization 7LO 1
Management Definition:- According to F.W.Taylor Management is an art (Skill) of knowing what you want to do and then seeing that it is done in the best and cheapest way. OR George R. Terry Management as a process consisting of planning, organizing, actuating and controlling, performed to determine and accomplish the objective by the use of people and resources. 8LO 1
Continued In the definition, Planning :- means Plan in advance. Organizing:- means coordination between human resources and material resources. Actuating :- means motivation and giving direction to subordinate. Controlling :- means to ensure about implementation of plan without deviation . Therefore, this definition tells that management is an act of achieving the organization objectives. 9LO 1
