 College(School) provides basic level preparation . They teach you fundamental concepts
 Didnt take compute science in 11th and 12th. Struggled to catch up and so started acquiring skills
from online courses, machine learning
 Tried few coding sites  topcoder, codechef to self improve coding skills
 In job interviews , they test the basic data structures and algorithms
 Seniors ( recently graduated alumni) helped in preparing for interview  helped in focusing on the
important college curriculum
 Prepared for interview by revising all the three year learnings, online videos, tutorials on basics
 Add additional skills using courser and other online courses
 College lectures are sometimes long and boring . The videos in online courses o, online videos how
to are available on demand and can study anytime, personalized course content
 As student they code for stretch, study at a stretch, sleep at a a stretch. On demand videos help
them to do it
 Shorter attention span. So lectures if available on small modules will help.
 Wish college lectures are recorded and available offline to view anytime
 Expect workplace onboarding which provides basics guidleines, hr related, org structure, roles and
responsibilities, technologies
 Lke the onboarding provided so far
 Workplace manager/mentor is important  learnt that in onboarding
 Only online onboarding at workplace wont help. Likes classroom atmosphere or they may not
learn
 The student was confident
 Made eye contact
 Was very expressive in opinions
 Thought the onboarding he was receiving was useful
 Thought giving his input helps in improving onboarding  help transition from campus to
workplace
