Anthony Brewer completed a co-op at Northeastern in mechanical engineering and manufacturing. He created and updated several operation sheets. He designed an alignment stand for the Aurora 1.5 cell using a lab jack, leveling feet, and laser pointer. He also automated a lifting mechanism for a laser lab using a stepper motor and designed testing carts and a mobile cart. Through this experience, he gained understanding of manufacturing processes, advanced design skills, and familiarity with electronics and safety practices. Moving forward, he plans to finish his degree, travel, and get a job.

They modeled the structure in Tekla after receiving the initial Staad model from the client's design firm. This required adjusting member locations and dealing with revisions as design progressed. The 55m tall tower structure with a boiler mass at the top presented stability challenges under earthquake loads. Hi-Tech delivered general arrangement, assembly, and part drawings over 5 months to help expedite installation. They employed quality processes including self-checks, peer reviews, and audits to deliver the project outputs on time.
