Minna Markkanen has had a varied career in nursing. She received a Master of Nursing Sciences in Administration in 1990 and a Master of Nursing Sciences in Education in 1995. Her work experience includes being a public health nurse from 1982 to 1990 and working as a teacher since 1992. She is currently a senior lecturer at Satakunta University of Applied Sciences. Her interests are in public health nursing, health promotion, child health care, transcultural nursing, and nursing education with an international focus using problem-based learning methods. In her free time, she enjoys making firewood and swimming, including winter swimming, at her cottage, doing yoga, and listening to jazz and opera music.
