Govt. HS Purani Poonch was established in 1959 in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir and upgraded to secondary level in 1989. The school has historical importance as many renowned educationists have served there, producing many successful alumni including IAS and KAS officers. The school has highly qualified teachers who work diligently for student development, and has well-developed infrastructure including smart classrooms, a science lab, and library.
