Minerals are solid substances that form rocks and have properties like color, crystal form, hardness, and luster. They come in different colors like green copper, red ruby, and green emerald. Minerals grow as crystals that can be cubic like pyrite or pyramid-shaped like quartz. Hardness refers to how easy a mineral is to scratch, with talc being the softest and diamond the hardest. Lustre is how a mineral reflects light, with galena having a metallic luster and calcite a non-metallic one.
3. Minerals have different colours:
Copper looks green and blue.
Ruby looks red.
Emerald looks green.
Sapphire looks blue.

4. CRYSTAL FORM
Minerals grow as crystals.
Some crystals are cubic, for exaple
pyrite.
Some crystals are like pyramids, for
example quartz.
5. HARDNESS
It means how easy it is to
scratch a mineral.
Talc is the softest material
because it is very easy to
scratch.
Diamond is the hardest
material. It is impossible
to scratch.
6. LUSTRE
It means how a mineral
reflects the light.
Galena has a metallic
lustre.
Calcite has a non-
metallic lustre.
