Case Studies Materion Matters Content Management Site Case Study Problem Our client wanted a CMS site put up quickly that supported multiple content users and multiple languages (English, Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, German, and Czech) that was intuitive and extensible. Solution The solution we chose was Telerik’s Sitefinity . Since Sitefinity is built upon ASP.NET, we were able to leverage our existing expertise to enhance the system and add custom functionality (system integration) that was not provided out of the box. The inherent localization allowed our team to quickly add new language versions to the site by simply adding the culture codes into a configuration file. The use of master pages and templates allowed custom layouts and templates to be used throughout the site to ensure the integrity of the design and style guide. By default, all content is archived when published, thus allowing users to view and rollback content to a previous version. After receiving the design, we quickly implemented the master pages, CSS, and templates. Once this was complete we created the all pages with the proposed sitemap and started added content placeholders to the site. Results The solution was a great success. The system was up and running on time. Case Studies (Continued) AddOns Integration Case Study Problem Our client needed a web portal system that would provide an intuitive graphical interface to their backend ERP system, Ellipse. The client needed the ability to push and pull data to and from their ERP system following the execution of custom business logic. Solution The solution was to develop a multi layered .NET web application that leveraged ASP.NET for the web portal, WCF for scalability, and a custom built connector to their ERP system. Utilizing this design, custom business logic and workflow could be used within WCF to make decisions on what data should be pulled, as well as verify that all data is valid prior to pushing to the ERP. Results The solution was deployed to the customer’s network and satisfied their needs.
