This document provides directions for an impromptu speech activity. Students will randomly select a topic, have 1 minute to plan an organization approach, and then speak for 1 to 2 minutes on that topic. After speaking, the student will receive content feedback from the audience and select the next speaker.

IMPROMPTU SPEECH DIRECTIONS Student picks a topic out of container. Student is given 1 minute of quiet alone time to deliberate an organizational approach. Student speaks on the topic for a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 2 minutes. When completed, speaker solicits content-only comments from the audience. (Leave delivery out of this.) Student selects next speaker.
