TIPS FOR RADIO
Try to use short, arresting sentences aimed directly
at the listener.
Write conversationally
Leave no obvious question unanswered.
Provide phonetic pronunciation as needed
Place dashes between numbers such as addresses
or phone numbers (5-5-5-1-2-1-2)
Grab attention quickly and hold it.

Finding professional announcers is helpful but not
vital.
Ask the radio station for guidance in preparing the
PSA.
Listen to other radio PSAs to get a feel for how they
should sound.
Make certain that all information in the PSA
is correct.
Do not lie or bend the truth in any way.
