When the task first began, I feared that I would not be able
to complete a magazine at all. This was because I had no
experience in using any of the software we were using and
also I wasn’t sure how to take pictures of a high quality.
When I began.
ï‚— When we first got given the task of creating a college
magazine, looking back my magazine was awful! It
followed very little conventions, and had nothing in
anyway I feel I would keep in my magazine now.
Looking at my magazine now, the difference is huge!
Yo notice a major change in both.
College magazine
As you can see, the magazine is of a very poor standard. It has very little
positive about it. The magazine does not include a barcode, an issue number
or date. Also the coversine's begin to come over his face. These are all
negatives going on along with many others giving it an unprofessional look
about it, and something I would not give in to try and achieve a GCSE or A-
level. There is no banner and I don’t think enough cover lines and the ones I
have produced I feel could be shortened down. The reason th magazine is not
very good is because of my lack of skill and technique but along side me not
following the codes and coventions of a magazine.
Music magazine
My music magazine, is at a much higher standard in
comparison to my college magazine. This is because I
have had allot more time to experience the use of
Photoshop and Quark express, this made it allot easier
to produce higher quality things because I learnt what to
do. Also I followed codes and conventions of other
magazines, through looking at them and comparing
them to others in the classroom giving me more analysis
and understanding as to why and how things were done.
