- 1. Technology Having studied GCSE Photography, I had some sort of inkling as to how to manage a professional photography camera and use the skills I learnt to the best of my advantage in order to capture high-quality images. However I furthered my learning when taking photos for my magazine as I required them to be very high quality such as the ones seen in professional hip hop magazines such as Vibe and The Source. I first experimented with a Fujifilm digital camera and took images of one of my friends as models using a bedroom as the location. After testing out how it would look like after taking a couple of pictures, I realised it wouldnt work due to the distractions taking place in the background and how it wouldnt really look like a high quality image. Therefore, I used two other friends as models and used outdoor locations such as streets in Camden where it was filled with graffiti to create a more urban feel and my garden. I figured out how to use the daylight and outdoor location to create professional looking photos, I placed the flash on for my photo-shoot in order to increase the brightness and high quality of the images, unlike when I used the Fujifilm the flash was off which resulted in some of the pictures looking quite dull. Overall, I was learning the technicality of capturing good photos which would be seen in hip hop magazines.
