Quality by Design (QbD) is a proactive approach that builds quality into the product design and development process. It involves identifying Critical to Quality attributes upfront and designing experiments and controls to ensure these attributes meet predefined standards and customer requirements. QbD focuses on understanding customer needs, identifying potential quality risks, and designing processes to control these risks to achieve high quality products.

Quality by Design (QbD) is a concept first outlined by well-
known quality expert Joseph M. Juran who believed that
quality could be planned, and that most quality crises and
problems relate to the way in which quality was planned in
the first place.
