This document outlines the steps for quality antenatal care (ANC). It includes: 1) taking a medical history and conducting a complete physical examination including blood pressure, height, weight, and abdominal examination; 2) performing investigations such as a hemoglobin test, urine test for protein and sugars, VDRL test for syphilis, and HIV test; and 3) providing drugs and counselling such as iron/folic acid/calcium for 6 months, two tetanus toxoid injections one month apart, ultrasounds in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters, health counselling, and nutrition advice.
