The document discusses the various media technologies used at different stages of a project to create advertising content. This includes hardware like cameras, microphones, and computers, as well as software for editing, presentation, and sharing content online. Specifically, the author used a Nikon camera to film content, Adobe Premiere Pro to edit videos, PowerPoint for planning and presentation, and social media platforms like YouTube, Blogger, and Facebook to gather feedback and share the final ads. Being familiar with the technologies helped the author efficiently create and improve the advertising materials for the intended audience.

Question 4
2. Media technologies have been crucial during
the whole process of my main tasks and
ancillary texts therefore without them I would
not have achieved what I have. Technologies
which I used included hardware, software and
online tools such as Nikon D3100, Adobe
Premier Pro and YouTube. Many of these
technologies where used in conjunction with
each other when filming, editing and posting
my adverts.
4. The Nikon D3100 was one of the most
important pieces of hardware which I used as
without it I would not have been able to film
my adverts and sponsorship sequence in such
good quality. I felt confident when using the
camera as it was my own therefore I knew
how to do most thing with it when filming. I
felt that I had an advantage with having my
own camera as I was able to practice shots in
my own time which helped when it came to
actually filming the final adverts and
sponsorship sequence.
5. I used a Nikon DX2 when photographing my
images for ancillary product - Pop- up. This
camera allowed me to get professional
looking studio photographs which was
essential in making the pop-up look realistic
and professional. As I had previously used
this camera I was able to use it to my full
potential by including the studio soft box
light in in order to gain soft, natural lighting
which is stereotypically of fashion
advertising.
6. I used the Zoom H1 to record all of the voice
overs in my main task and ancillary texts. I
decided to use this as it gave a clear, louder
sound however with some fuzzy background
noise which was a problem which I though that I
might have had. However I was able to attach a
microphone with a wind guard which reduced
the background noise and allowed me to get a
clear and professional sounding voice over.
It was also portable therefore I was able to
take it home to practice voice overs to get an
understanding of what I wanted it to sound like.
7. I used a Mac throughout the whole process
from research through to my evaluation. This
was because Mac had all the appropriate
software which I need such as Photoshop and
Premiere Pro which are better to use on
Macs. I felt confident when using the Mac as I
have used them previously therefore I knew
where everything was which speed up the
whole process from research to evaluations.
9. I decided to use Adobe Premier Pro to edit my adverts
and sponsorship sequence as it was confident with
the software due it being easy to navigate and edit
clips, whilst having a wide variety of different editing
techniques which I found very helpful. For example
one of my clips was slightly darker therefore I was
able to use effects such as colour correction and
contrast in order to make it the same as the rest of
the clip. Also the editing tools made it easy to change
things to the clips such as speed and duration
therefore allowing me to be creative with what I
wanted to do and how my adverts would look. Lastly I
used the razor tool a lot in order to cut clips more
accurately and insert clips within clips in order to
create the effective of it changing between the two
different clips.
10. I used PowerPoint throughout the planning,
research and evaluation stages as it has
proved a good way of presenting information
rather than in a essay form which is harder
to go back and refer from. It also allowed me
to include some creativity through different
colours, themes and images to give a visual
element to what I am presenting and the
ideas which I am putting forward.
11. Word allowed me to present large pieces of
written work and create table throughout
the evaluation, planning and research stages.
It also allowed me to easily make legal forms
and disclaimers such as talent release forms,
location scouting sheets etc.
I found that the option to make tables has
really helped in presenting work in a
professional manner and has been easy to
refer back to during the planning process.
13. YouTube has been very important and useful
throughout all of the stages of the process. It
allowed me to research into existing fashion
adverts to find conventions, include adverts in
my work for example posting on my blog,
embedding into PowerPoints via slideshare.
During the construction stage, I was able to
easily upload my adverts and sponsorship
sequence to then share on my blog and Facebook
in order to gain feedback on how to improve.
Lastly due to YouTube being popular it meant
that my adverts and sponsorship sequence could
be accessed by a wide audience therefore it was
not limited to who I shared it with such as
friends on Facebook.
14. I have used blogger greatly throughout this
process as it has allowed me to easily post all
of my work despite the format that it may be
in such as work documents, videos or images.
I was also able to keep my work organised by
using labels to separate my work on the blog
which made it easier to refer back to and for
others to look at.
Lastly I was able to customise the blog to
how I wanted it look therefore giving me the
opportunity to make it more personal to me
and the project.
15. ݺߣ Share allowed me to upload and share Word
documents and PowerPoints throughout the
entire project to then embed onto my blog
rather than redirected to another site. This
helped with organisation of my blog as well as
giving me more ways to easily present my work.
ݺߣ Share also had a feature which allowed you
to embed YouTube videos into PowerPoint after
any slide which you choose. This was particularly
helpful when looking at existing fashion adverts
and sponsorship sequences and how they have
inspired me because the viewer will be able to
see what I am talking about.
16. Prezi has allowed me to show information in
a fun and interactive way by spreading out
the information so it does not look
overwhelming or hard to look at.
I found Prezi particularly useful when doing
my evaluation as I was able to show my
progression due to the way that you can
create a path to move in the order in which
you choose.
17. Facebook has been extremely helpful when gaining valuable
audience research and feedback throughout all of the stages.
During the research stage, I was able to share surveys on
Facebook and get responses from a wide audience on what their
age, gender and fashion sense is. This allowed me to then take
this on board and tailor my adverts and ancillary texts to meet
the audiences needs.
When choosing my company name I used Facebook to decide on
the final one as I thought that the name has to appeal to the
audience therefore they would be the best people to chose the
final company name.
Also during the construction stage I was able to post different
edits of my adverts in order to get feedback on what could be
improved therefore I could ensure that I could create a product
in which the audience will respond positively to.
Lastly I used Facebook to get feedback for my evaluation in order
to see whether it has been a success or not as they will be the
ones who determine whether the company appeal to the
audience.
