Radio plays a vital role in Indian democracy as the fourth pillar after the executive, legislature, and judiciary. During the British era, Britain controlled Indian media. Radio was important in the Indian independence movement. Radio serves as an agent of development in India by educating farmers and promoting agriculture, rural development, and overall societal development. It also provides entertainment like film music and comedy programs. Radio strengthens democracy through political broadcasting of different parties' views.
