About the Work Power Pro+ 2007 is a game-like interactive hybrid that transgresses the borders of feministic media art by juxtaposing the aesthetics of contemporary dance with the participant experience of digital gaming. Through a stream of virtual challenges, the participant is forced to confront themes as violence and social inequality. These themes are explored through allowing the participants multiple approaches for questions such as animal rights, sexual identity and death. The work will stick out in the field of both the current game genres and in the field of new media works.
3. Context and Discourse In 1988 the Finnish artist Teemu M?ki video art work: My way ¨C A work in progress. The piece was bought by Kiasma for 20000 Marks (€3500 ). In the 90 minute video work, there was a 6 second part where the artist killed a kitten with a small axe and ejaculated on the corpse. After the work's first public performance, M?ki was sued for animal abuse. He was found guilty and fined. Today the work is stored in Kiasma's archice, but the Museum won't show it publically.
4. Power Pro+ 2007: Project Concept The work is about killing cute and sympathetic creatures with an axe, and ejaculating on their corpses. On the first level the player character destroys a teddy bear and cums all over it. As the game progresses, the toy is replaced by cute animals such as cats and squirrels, then human beings, starting from ugly hobos, and moving towards cute babies.
5. The Interface The aim is to deepen the participants experience with the help of tactile and kinesthetic interface with the help of modern game design technology. The interface consists of motion-detecting remotes of Wii-console by Nintendo. The remote is used both as an axe and as a penis.
