I have known Mr. Maltz for eleven years as an indirect supervisor as well as a professional colleague at U.S. Joint Forces Command from 1999 through 2011.<br />Mr. Maltz displayed great professionalism, dedication, and creativity throughout the years that I have known him. Mr. Maltz consistently demonstrated strengths in the analysis and development of joint military policy, joint military concepts, joint military doctrine as well as in the writing and instruction in all of these spheres, drawing heavily from an unusually sound foundation of military history, theory, and philosophy. Mr. Maltz’s insightful and thorough analyses in these areas underpin his numerous professionally published articles. He also consistently demonstrated an unusually strong grasp of strategy, operational art, and human and organizational performance theory and best practice. During the time period that I worked closely with Mr. Maltz, we considered him our resident expert on military history and theory. Mr. Maltz showed great personal initiative in sharing this knowledge with the working group as well as across our extended community of interest in many various forms to our great benefit.<br />Mr. Maltz is an accomplished professional who wins the respect of others through his ability to apply critical thinking skills to the task at hand and to articulate complex ideas verbally and in writing in a compelling fashion.<br />I highly recommend Richard for employment.
