Re: Recommendation Letter
To whom it may concern:
I would like to recommend Joven II F. Trinidad as a candidate with your organization. He
worked as a trainer for Smartmatic from 9 December2015 to 31 May 2016. His engagement
covered the period of our company’s consulting services for the vote-counting machine
(VCM) automated General Elections in the Philippines.
During his time with us, Joven did an excellent job in his position and was an asset to our
team by performing the following tasks to our full satisfaction.
For the Vote Counting Machine (VCM) training, he was in charge of co-developing and
executing the training of about 150 field trainers and technicians. He co-edited the VCM
manual and developed the section on frequently asked questions. In addition, he performed
the VCM set-up and trouble-shooting operations for an instructional video. Joven proved to
be able to work under tight deadlines, preparing his trainees successfully for their
evaluation, thus achieving all training targets and ensuring participants’ satisfaction to a
high degree. His hands-on approach and interactive training style enabled trainees to later
on independently perform their duties and responsibilities in the field.
For the Consolidation and Canvassing System (CCS) training, Joven executed a
training-of-trainers (TOT) program for canvassing technicians and was assigned as a room
owner in the National Technical Support Center (NTSC) during the elections. There he
had the oversight of about 150 agents per shift, handling second-degree problems, and
coordinating with government officials of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for
approval of lowering down proclamation thresholds in cases of VCM malfunction. It was
particularly in these situations, when Joven underscored his skills to multi-task under
enormous pressure, finding innovative solutions, and communicating effectively across
different departments. He showed a clear client orientation when co-training members of
the Philippine Congress for the proclamation of national-level positions.
For the cloud-based trouble-shooting system E360, he trained about 250 agents in both
technical procedures and soft skills for handling client calls from more than 50,000 field
technicians. Given the short lead time for preparing and teaching these training modules,
Joven showed an encouraging ease in understanding and applying new skills and
knowledge to ensure the proper performance of the agents. His positive attitude towards
the election-related implementation challenges proved very effective in keeping trainees
engaged and motivated under all conditions.
In addition to these three work areas, Joven was also assigned for field testing, where he
did VCM quality-assurance checks in both urban and rural areas in the provinces of the
Philippines. In all these tasks, we could always rely on his proactive contributions,
independent problem-solving, and efficient teamwork. He had an excellent rapport with all
our constituents, including COMELEC. Being able to communicate and collaborate with
different people and under minimal supervision, Joven played a key part in ensuring the
successful, internationally recognized VCM-automated elections in the Philippines.
Based on these achievements, we see Joven as an asset to any employer and highly
recommend him for any endeavor he chooses to pursue.
