Sunshine School is focused on creating a greener and healthier learning environment through education and awareness about the environment. The school has implemented programs to reduce waste and encourage recycling and composting. Children are taught the principles of zero-waste and encouraged to bring less packaged food to reduce lunchroom trash. Through awareness programs and an award system, the students keep the school surroundings clean and the classrooms relatively empty of litter at the end of each day. Recycling fashion show letter
- 1. Hello Elementary Parents, Happy spring! This letter is to inform you that Friday, March 31st, will be our annual QSI spring Recycling Fashion Show! This is a great opportunity for students to demonstrate their environmental stewardship. All students are invited to create a costume or outfit utilizing recycled materials. Ideas for materials for costumes or outfits can include anything that your child may choose to recycle (plastic bags, recycled cloth, cardboard, etc.). Your child may create this outfit with you at home. He/she will also be given opportunities to work on an outfit during art class at school. On March 31st, during 7th and 8th periods, QSI will host the Recycling Fashion show, where students will display their costumes/outfits on the runway. Parents are welcome to join in by viewing and being part of our audience or by walking down the runway in their own costumes.
