WHAT IS RED EYE ?
 RED EYE is a general term use to describe an eye that appears
to be red due to illness ,allergy ,infections ,injury or some other
conditions.
 Our eyes become red when the tiny blood vessels on the surface of
the eye gets enlarged and dilated (vasodilation)
 It is also know as Bloodshot eyes

1. Common causes
 Dust particle in eye
 Exposure to sun
 Eye strain
 Lack of sleep
 Swimming
2. Allergy
 Dust and pollens
 Usage of Cosmetic products
3. Infections
 Bacterial  streptococci , staphylococci
 Viral  herpes simplex , herpes zoster
 Protozoa - Acanthamoeba
4.Autoimmune condition
 Sjogrens syndrome

5. Injury
 Excessive rubbing of eye
 Contact lens wear
 Chemical irritation
 Foreign body attack
 Uncommon radiations
