The above mentioned employee has been working at Victoria Hospital from 1/02/2014 to
31 October 2014 as a Communications and Public Relations Intern.
Victoria Hospital is a large district level hospital with a bed capacity of 184. The hospital
provides medical, surgical, paediatric, trauma, OPD, psychiatry and other services. The
number of beds varies per ward but on average the capacity rages from 14 – 35 beds per
ward.
Miss Carelse assisted the Victoria Hospital Board with administrative functions. Some of the
activities included typing and distributing of minutes, arranging meetings and various
other administrative tasks.
Nurses Day and Victoria Hospital 125 year celebrations:
She played a pivotal role in organising the two events and worked closely with the
Directorate Communication at Provincial level as well as private partners.
Miss Carelse drafted a newsletter for the hospital and distributed it. She was also involved
in fundraising. She acted out her social responsibility role by involving the staff of the
hospital to get involved in casual day to raise funds for clients with disability.
The officer reported to me as the deputy manager of nursing. She proved herself as a very
hard working person who has the ability function independently without much supervision.
She is committed and maintains good interpersonal relations with everybody she came
into contact with.
Miss Carelse was very punctual and task driven and kept to deadlines. She was well liked
and considered to be an asset to the organisation. I would like to recommend her for any
position she may be applying for.
