Types of Essays
Narrative Essay writing- The learner has to give an account
of events or incident in the form of a storyline.
Descriptive Essay writing- The learner paints a picture with
words.
Persuasive Essay writing- sharing your point of view or an
opinon in an objective manner to persuade the reader.

Types of Essays
• Writing based on visual stimuli- The learner will be
asked to interpret a picture and be able to create
an essay topic based on the visual.
Discursive Essay writing- The learner has to
present both sides of the argument.

Parts of an essay
 An introduction is the smallest
part of the essay which typically
consists of five to six lines. It
introduces the topic, provides a
thesis statement and provides a
brief summary of what the body
paragraphs will be about.
 The body paragraph usually
includes three paragraphs each
discussing a different point.
 The conclusion is the final part of
the essay which summarizes all
the points of the essay and
provides a solution.

learners proofread
