COSMOPOLITAN
This magazine is more focused of celebrities. Very aesthetically
pleasing and about and living a more lavish trendy life with a
nicely decorated apartment. This is different compared to a
more realistic and middle-class lifestyle magazine. More
colourful and flamboyant – typically aimed at a more female
audience.

VANITY FAIR
Magazine more formal and older target audience, more
political and neutral plain colour scheme to emphasise
the Vanity fair in red. Less lifestyle and more about
goings on around the world – celebs, politics, weather
disasters.

GQ
Quite plain and less colour more of a strong clear set up – aimed
at a more male audience. Lots of stories about celebs and other
people's lives. Things you can buy and being told crazy things
that will change their lives.

NET-A-PORTER/PORTER
More delicate and feminine presentation of the website.
Sells clothes and trinkets for home décor. Fashion and
apartments. Celebrity gossip, interviews and articles
about/written by actors.

MARIE CLAIRE
Plain and aesthetically pleasing, pastel soft colours
and very female based. Feminist – helping women feel
safe walking home. Stop Ukraine war and domestic
abuse, fighting for rights and updates on the big
global news events.

RED MAGAZINE
Sells clothes and home décor as well as advice on
wellness and beauty and food recipes. Helping enrich
lives by promoting manifesting and yoga. Colourful and
very female based, not many male models and
promoting more thing females are typically more
interested in.

Things I want to include on my website -
• Wellness/animals: Picture of a young man (Joel) with a dog, man crouched down same level with dog, AJ front
paws on owner’s knee.
• DIY(drinks and food): Man (dad) holding a cocktail, flowers in background to match same colour scheme as cocktail
in picture, nails painted, list of cocktails to make at home.
• An apartment/ home: (Erin) picture of living room furniture, cocktail on table (links to DIY shot)
• News: Celebrity gossip/stories, political events.

Writing for website (examples) -
Regardless of whether you just made things official on the main grid right before Valentine’s Day, are in a
situationship that doesn’t seem like it’ll materialize into V-Day plans, or are legitimately relieved to be single
and not have to shop around for heart-embellished gifts, you’re going to want to sip on (or chug, no judgment)
a festive cocktail. That’s just a fact.
Is it finally your bday? The holiday szn? Galentine’s Day? Maybe you've just made it through the day without
texting that f*ckboy back, or just successfully managed to not bite at your cuticles the entire week even when
you were lil ball of anxiety. IMO, all of these things are grounds to throw a (safe) get-together.
Ok, so I do gotta note that “party” is a pretty loose term nowadays. Outdoor picnics, Zoom gatherings, and
ragers all fall under the umbrella at this point, but you know what really solidifies their party status? Good
friends and good cocktails (pls stop me if I sound too Carrie Bradshaw rn). I'll have you know that with the right
ingredients and some clear instructions, there's a seasoned bartender within all of us.
