Filipinos enjoy eating frequent small meals and snacks throughout the day. Suman, a traditional Filipino snack made of glutinous rice, brown sugar, and coconut milk wrapped in banana leaves, is both affordable and nutritious. Researchers developed a new version of suman called "Suman con Halo-halo" by adding the ingredients of halo-halo, a popular Filipino dessert of shaved ice, evaporated milk, and tropical fruits, into suman. Their objectives were to determine the acceptability of Suman con Halo-halo and improve the quality of suman by combining it with fruits.
