INTRODUCTION:
 Research writing is the scientific works and
findings that represents your own interpretation or
evaluation.
 It is an argument that you build in any sector
 For civil engineering students it is one of the best
field to show their talent and prove themselves to
the world.
 Research writing involves surveying, data
collection, studying.
 It is more than a knowledge which takes lots of
experiments
 Research on various sectors can be done;
buildings, transportation, bridges, environmental
engineering, sanitary and water based etc.

Basically these two doesn’t have any significant
difference but a civil engineering students should be
focused to write a research article than a paper

Before writing the research:
 If you are interested in any topic related to
engineering go for it.
 If you want to do master in foreign, must do the

research sites.
 Have strong determination to do the research
article from the 1st year onwards.
 It is a very time consuming work and requires lots
of patience.
 Be an eye point of a professor/teacher who is
expert in this sector. He/she will play a vital role in
your work.

STAGES:
 STAGE 1:
choose a topic in which your are really interested.
have a strong belief and stay focused on the topic.
 Stage 2:
no need to hurry, always stick to the topic and gather
information related to that.
read lots of stuffs related to your topic.
keep the data collecting app; can use memo, google notes,
google keeps or always carry a small diary with you to write
down your ideas, datas.

always make outline of the paper.
write the process in tables, charts
 STAGE 4:
perform the experiments in lab
show the results in the graphs charts
 STAGE 5:
now you should have all the data, experimental values,
findings.

be given to that.
 Stage 8:
Begin to edit the 1st draft. Show it to your mentor and take their
advice.
Research must be able to show than to tell.
Your article will be read by the reviewer. They are the main who accepts/rejects
your project. So your writing must be technical, well managed.

Finalize your work and go thoroughly to that.
Now it is ready to be submitted to the journal.
 STAGE 10:
submit you article to the journals of any famous university or
other international journals.
In the context of Nepal, you can submit to journals of pulchowk
campus.

 Having your research published will be highly
beneficial to your academic career.
 In the bachelor try to publish least one research
article.
 In the final year project you can make make your
project as research based project.
