• Interacted with the development staff, business analysts and customers on several large projects.
• Managed the installation, implementation and user training as well as adaptation of a new Oracle product
- Oracle Application Server. Our implementation focused on: Oracle Files – Collaboration Suite, Oracle
Reports, and Oracle Discoverer
• Worked with an internal business analyst and used the Discoverer tool to examine actual time spent in
3. each stage of the production cycle. Discovered inefficiencies which were changed to improve the cost
per page which in turn led to increased profitability.
• The new installation of Reports led to our ability to run reports off hours and in batches, delivering them to
the necessary recipients via email to await them arriving in the morning. This saved employee time as
well as removed workload against the database during working hours.
• Created and managed a sales analysis database, ETL procedures and reports to extract required
information daily, weekly, and monthly. Extensive data modeling was required to create not only the basic
database but also to assist in the creation of the required reports. Used a combination of triggers and
stored procedures to audit all updates and deletes to any of the sales data on the nightly ETL runs. Much
of the ETL required trigger and stored procedure usage.
• Worked on a project to create an application and back-end database for creating the weekly advertising
circulars for a regional and national retailer. When the sales analysis data warehouse was completed
there was also a tie-in done between the two systems. Database auditing done through 2 means, the
application would store a string of changes made, while triggers and stored procedures captured the
before and after data on updates.
