Transportation, Intelligent Transportation Solutions (GE ITS),USA.UTCS provides a seamless and
disaster-hardened transportation managementsystem. It replaces existingequipment with
networked, computer-aided dispatching work stations that function with tactical NS information
systems. UTCS includes a promising new feature called the movementplanner. Using a virtual model
of the NS rail network, the movement planner formulates an optimal, system-focusedtrain
management plan with the objective of maximizing on-time performance.
Responsibilities:
 Document Technical data generated by the UTCS system consistent with engineering
policies and procedures
 Analyze the data generated from the Norfolk Southern (NS) railroad production system,
to extract meaningful information/ reports that can be used to establish performance
and quality of the UTCS production system
 Participate in technical discussions via meetings involving data architecture, design,
development, and troubleshooting of issues or customer raised concerns related to UTCS
data
 Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation using sound engineering principles and
adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program
requirements
 Communicate directly with GE Transportation Engineers and NS field support team to
provide support for those work products developed
 Participate in Agile scrum meetings, sprint planning, and provide constant updates during
daily stand up meetings, test case uploading, etc.
 Work closely with UTCS cross-functional teams to understand data usage and data
analytics requirements
