This document outlines the key steps in a solar photovoltaic project including site survey, design of the civil and mechanical structures, module and cable selection, electrical equipment implementation, installation of the civil, mechanical, and electrical components, project management and site supervision, operation and maintenance, and module and inverter level performance monitoring to assess soiling losses and optimal seasonal tilt.
Site Topography and Contour Survey
The most important here in this segment
is to review the strata of the land
and thus design the structure foundations
as per it. Say if you are planning
a project in rocky terrain, make sure
that the excavation for foundation of
building or array structure will be easily
done up to the designed depth.
If the terrain is undulated or with dune
soil strata, it is recommended to properly
water bound it and compact the
land before starting work. To avoid
undulations the soil cutting can be
done yet it is a cost effective step. If
the arrays are not properly designed on
undulated land plant will not generate
power effectively.
