Richter is Hungary's largest pharmaceutical company, founded in 1901. It sells drugs in nearly 100 countries and has two production facilities in Hungary. In the 2000s, Richter implemented SAP across its operations to integrate functions and improve data reliability. It also implemented a document management system to help researchers find regulatory documents, and a SAP business warehouse for financial consolidation. Richter expanded SAP to its Romanian and Polish affiliates, facing challenges from language barriers and inconsistent networks.
