Grandpa had disappeared from the cottage with his painting. Jess eventually found Grandpa hiding in the roof luggage box, also known as a coffin. He was hiding from Alfred. Grandpa slept the whole afternoon and woke up at 8pm, calling Jess to stay with him the next day as the doctor was coming to examine him. Jess and Grandpa both admitted they liked Alfred, despite him talking a lot.
3. EXPLANATION [PG NO. 70-73]
In the pages 70-73 of river boy chapter 10 we can
see that Alfred has arrived at the cottage through
some sort of shortcut from the woods. Upon
reaching the cottage he finds that grandpa has
disappeared with his painting. They all search for
him, it was just like a nightmare for all of them,
they also have weird and bad thoughts coming in
their minds. Dad also sends Jess to find for
grandpa in the river, but it was their good fate
that he had not attempted a suicide. Dad and
mom looked everywhere but could not find him.
Before leaving the cottage Alfred tells Jess that
grandpa liked to have fun.
4. EXPLANATION [PG. NO.74-77]
After Alfred had gone jess heard a voice out of
somewhere.this was definitely grandpas voice. Jess
looks everywhere for grandpa but, after a while she
found him lying in the coffin[rooftop luggage box]. He
had his painting with him and he wanted to hide from
Alfred. After coming out of the coffin he sleeps the
whole afternoon, while that time dad and mom read
magazines, and wait for grandpa to wake up or
wanting him to sleep in that final sleep. At that moment
Alfred comes in and plays cribbage with Jess.
Grandpa wakes at around 8 in the evening and calls
for Jess, he asks her to be with him the whole day for
tomorrow as some doctor was coming to see him.
Jess and grandpa both agree that they like Alfred
except that he talks a lot.
5. CRIBBAGE
A match (much like tennis) consists of more than one
game, often an odd number. On a conventional board,
they are often in the middle of the board or at the
top/bottom.
In a two player game of cribbage a player scores one
match point for winning a game. Their opponent will start
as dealer in the next game. If a player skunks their
opponent (reaches 121 points before their opponent
scores 91 points) then that player wins two match points
for that game. If a player double skunks their opponent
(reaches 121 points before their opponent reaches 61),
then they score four match points for the game. If a player
triple skunks their opponent (reaches 121 points before
their opponent reaches 31 points), they automatically win
the match. Double and triple skunks are not included in the
official rules of cribbage play and are optional.
