"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Gods will ishis good, pleasing and perfect will." ~ Romans 12:2 (NIV)
The document discusses the meaning of "knowing God". It argues that knowing God is not merely subjective or based on feelings, but rather is an objective interactive relationship with God as revealed in Scripture. It involves understanding God's character through His Word and obeying His commands, not just having beliefs or experiences. Several Bible verses are presented showing that knowing God involves action, transforming the whole person, and having assurance rather than just feelings.
Identity: Who we are In Christ: New CreationStephen Palm
油
Theres an old phrase used at weddings, Something old, something new As the Apostle Paul describes the identity of the Christian, he often contrasts the something old and the something new. In 2 Cor. 5:17 Paul describes the Christian believer as a new creature in Christ. But he also describes a transformation whereby something old has passed away. In Ephesians 4:24 the same Apostle calls us to put off the old self and put on the new self. All of this language of old and new seems to go back to Jesus conversation with Nicodemus where he challenged him to be born again. Our identity is part of a story of transformation. Just as we have old roots, we also have a new destiny a legacy to leave and an assignment to fulfill (Eph. 2:10)
it is impossible for us , being a human to be satisfied while we are in our physical life! King Solomon the wisest and the richest king said "everything is vanity". this message tells us that we can experience satisfaction through the presence God. therefore let us aim and aspire His presence above all things. God bless!
This document discusses the fruits of the spirit "joy" and "peace" from Galatians 5:22-23. It defines joy as great happiness or pleasure, especially of a spiritual kind, and peace as freedom from anxiety and mental calm. For Christians, joy and peace come from their relationship with Christ, not from avoiding suffering or material things. Having Christ imparted a measure of joy and peace within adversity. The document provides examples from scripture of Christians experiencing joy even while facing persecution.
Before Christ came into our lives, we were children of darkness. But even as God is light, and Christ is the light of the world, so also are we are children of light. As such, we ought to walk in the light and behave in a manner consistent with our calling. Wake up oh Christian and let your light shine.
This document discusses the intimate relationship that God desires with each individual person. It explains that while humans may perceive God as distant, God sees each person as uniquely created and values each soul. It also explains how sin separated humanity from God but that Jesus's sacrifice allows people to open the door to a deeper relationship with God through faith in Him. The document encourages readers to reflect on their own relationship with God and whether they want it to deepen.

Make Me A Servant
Make me a servant Lord, make me like you
For you are a servant, make me one, too.
Make me a servant, do what you must do
To make me a servant, make me like you.
To love my brother, to serve like you do.
I humble my spirit, I bow before yo.
And through my service, I'll be just like you.
So make me a servant, make me like you.
Open my hands Lord and teach me to share
Open my heart Lord and teach me to care,
For service to others is service to you.
Make me a servant, make me like you.
Personal Growth and Development is a gradual and systematic character building, attitudinal changes, spiritual stability, personal preparation and equipping for life and ministry exploits.
It is a mental, emotional, spiritual, social and psychological development with the ability to behave maturely in every circumstances of life. [I Cor.13:11, 14:20, I Tim.4:23, Heb.5:12-14]
This document discusses temptation, sin, and victory over temptation from a biblical perspective. It begins by asking a series of questions about temptation and sin. It then provides biblical answers to these questions by citing passages from 1 Corinthians 10:13 and James 1:2-4. The document explains that temptation comes from outside sources or from our own evil desires, but God will not let us be tempted beyond our ability to resist. It outlines the four steps of temptation leading to sin, and the alternative four steps to overcoming temptation. While temptation is not a sin, yielding to it is. The document identifies common temptations and advises setting limits on sin early before it's too late. It provides scriptural guidance on watching,
This document discusses how Christians can serve as different types of tools for God. It examines how believers can function as battering rams to break down barriers keeping people from God, crowbars to pull away harmful influences, chisels to carefully reshape lives through God's word, levels to establish truth and call for correction, planes to smooth rough surfaces, and magnets to draw people to God through Christ-like living. The conclusion emphasizes that through using these tools figuratively, believers can help shape and build up those around them as part of God's plan to save mankind through hearing, believing, repenting of sin, confessing Christ, and baptism.
The document discusses the importance of spiritual growth and maturity. It outlines different stages of spiritual development using the analogy of an infant, child, teenager, and mature adult. Each stage is characterized by certain behaviors and mindsets. The goal is to progress from basic understanding to discernment, submission to authority, and mentoring others through mature character and intimacy with God.
The document discusses the origins and biblical basis of the concept of original sin. It examines several passages from Romans and Psalms that are commonly cited as supporting the idea that humans inherit sin from Adam. However, it argues that some of these passages may have been misinterpreted and taken out of context. The document ultimately questions the validity of original sin and ideas like the inheritance of sin or guilt from the actions of others.
The document outlines God's plan of salvation according to scripture as involving five steps: 1) Hearing the word of God, 2) Believing in Jesus, 3) Repenting of sins, 4) Confessing faith in Jesus, and 5) Being baptized for the remission of sins. It emphasizes that while people have come up with many plans of salvation, there is only one plan given by God in the Bible. It encourages examining whether one has truly obeyed God's biblical plan of salvation or been deceived by human-made plans.
This document discusses God's way of salvation according to the Bible. It outlines the five steps as: 1) Hearing the Word, 2) Believing the message, 3) Having an attitude of repentance, 4) Confessing surrender, and 5) Baptism in water. It provides biblical references to support each step. Examples of salvation are provided from Acts. False doctrines like infant baptism are addressed, noting that baptism requires faith while infants do not have faith.
We can use the power of the blood of Jesus for our benefit. Claiming His blood daily, builds up a shield of protection around you, your household and your ministry.
The document discusses several ways that God speaks to believers, including through the Bible, the Holy Spirit, circumstances/timing, other people's lives, actual voices, and more. It emphasizes that hearing God is a learned skill that requires humility and choosing to listen for God's voice in various ways he may reveal himself. Believers must be attentive and obedient to fully hear what God is saying.
This document discusses how Christians should live in light of the imminent return of Jesus Christ. It examines different views on the rapture and tribulation period. The key points are:
1. Every generation of Christians believed Jesus was coming during their lifetime, based on signs in the Bible.
2. The document reviews passages suggesting the rapture occurs mid-tribulation or post-tribulation, not pre-tribulation as many believe.
3. Based on Jesus' teachings, Christians should live in constant readiness for His return, providing for others and making prudent preparations, rather than ignoring the signs of the times. How Christians live should reflect their eagerness to see Him.
Why do good people suffer? Job & his three friends did not get it right but his fourth friend, Elihu, did! His answer may surprise you but it is repeated many times in the NT.
We know the dictionary definition of worship (a feeling, or devotion to a deity), and we have read John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"; but, what does the Bible teach us about the subject of worship? This is a series of lessons that gets to the heart of worship and what it really means for Christians.
Presentation on the topic "Resurrection of Jesus" . Contains word study of the word "resurrection", harmonization of the Gospel accounts and historical evidence for the death, empty tomb and post-mortem appearances of Jesus.
This document discusses the greatest gift of giving one's time to others. It notes that time is a portion of life that can never be regained. It also discusses the greatest gifts of love, Jesus, and salvation. Love is exemplified through Jesus sacrificing his life. Salvation forgives our past, gives meaning to our present, and secures our future. The conclusion emphasizes that love is shown through actions, Jesus is eternal, and salvation is freely available.
The document summarizes the message to the church in Laodicea from Revelation 3. It describes the church as lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, and facing condemnation from Christ for their apathy. Christ calls them to repent by opening their hearts to him. If they do so, he promises to fellowship with them and allow them to share his throne. The document encourages readers to heed Christ's message to the churches and not grow complacent in their faith.

My attempt to explain how the metaphysics of the universe works using speculative philosophy and physics. I use the philosophy of idealism, consciousness primary, along with support from modern physicists who support this argument. I propose that the basis of the universe is non-dual monistic idealism. Using the Buddhist metaphysics of an unconditioned basis of being (infinite space-time & potential) we see how monistic idealism plays out in the non-random rules, structure, and repeating patterns of a manifested & conditioned universe. I also propose that the unconditioned basis-of-being is the G旦del "X" (unrecognized complexity) factor that explains the existence of the manifested conditioned universe per his ontological proof. Idealism can also explain the structural theodicy and suffering of the manifested universe, it is not a problem of evil but of ruthlessness for a purpose. Idealism also refutes a personal conditioned theistic God as Absolute or Ultimate, but does not refute (allows) spiritual power and meaning in the world. I include my Neoplatonic-like cosmological proof of God as the unconditioned basis of being, a terminal ontological ground-state (as brute fact), as being a non-theistic source of the universe. It is a long pptx, but it is a big subject.

The Power of the Cross: Part 1 A ProphecyDave Stewart
油
1 Corinthians 1:17; Psalm 22: The Power of the cross is evident in the fulfillment of prophecy. Jehovah provided these utterances to help the people of Israel understand what was happening the day that Jesus died. In this lesson our focus is on Psalm 22 that reminds Israel and us that he is the Messiah, that He is the King, and that he is bringing salvation for all. In Acts 2:22-36 Peter concludes his sermon on Pentecost Sunday. This is the sermon that launched the Church. We find that the Peter who once shrank back and even denied Jesus is now confident, bold and impassioned. Peter lays out three proofs of Jesus Good News, the Gospel. He does so through citing eyewitness testimony of the resurrection and ascension of Jesus and by citing prophetic texts that were fulfilled by Jesus. He shows us that the Gospel of Jesus is a proven fact!
