Male robins are slightly larger and more colorful than females. Baby robins are speckled when young and have almost no feathers or sight when hatched, relying on parents to feed them by opening their mouths. Nests are built to hold eggs and protect baby robins until they are almost ready to fly on their own and can be fed by parents.
